Green Building
The average single-family home generates between 6,960 and 12,064 pounds of construction waste.
Trusses conserve
The idea of green building is to incorporate environmental considerations into every phase of the building process. Using trusses and other engineered woods help a building to be genuinely sustainable. A buildings structure may or may not be seen once the construction process is done but the choices made during construction have an impact.
Conservation of wood thru the use of intelligently designed smaller dimensional lumber is a great way to help conserve our forests.
How we help
Custom Component trusses do not use large old-growth trees, the span and strength are provided by value-added engineering.
Custom Component trusses significantly reduce lumber waste on jobsite.
All in-plant wood cut-offs and waste re-cycled, none is sent to landfill. Light-gauge-steel trusses are 100% recyclable.
Resource Guides
NAHB: February 2008 the NAHB unveiled the National Green Building Standard (NGBS) and rating system for residential construction. NGBS Guidelines.[2008]
LEED:® Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design is a national rating system for commercial and residential construction, developed by the US Green Building Council. New in 2008, LEED for Homes rating system.
Both emphasize resource efficiency.
