St. Lucy's Parish, Racine, Wi [1996]

Constructed in 1996 for the St Lucy´s Parish, Racine, Wisconsin, the church incorporates 115 different truss designs. The roof is supported by three girders. The main girder is nearly 91 feet long, ten ply, while the other two are nearly 70 feet long, also 10 ply. Slide show below.
St Lucy Congregation began as a mission in 1917. The sanctuary has five wide aisles, seating eight hundred on the main floor, with a three hundred seat balcony. The new church is connected to an existing Parish grade school.
The Wood Truss Council of America featured this project at NAHB Show 1997.
